Wildacres Pottery Shop

The Wildacres pottery shop was opened in 1991. Ceramics has become a wonderful part of the programs of Wildacres Retreat. Equipment was purchased with a grant from the Fletcher Foundation and the shop was designed by Norm Schulman, a nationally known potter.

The facility is used during the three weeks that the Ringling School of Art and Design is holding their art programs, and other groups are offering pottery workshops as part of their programs.

The shop contains fourteen potter's wheels, slab roller, extruder, drying booth, work tables, two gas kilns, and two electric kilns. It is a great working space for up to 16 to 18 people.

There are times during the season that groups do not completely fill the retreat. Small groups of potters are invited to use the facility during these periods.

Guilds, clubs, schools that teach pottery, and other interested organizations should contact Wildacres conference center about use of the shop.
